Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, with a surface of 8,560 km² (3,305 sq ml) and a maximum depth of 227 mt (744 ft). It also stands out for the transparency of its waters. There are 36 isles, the most important being, Taquile and Amantani.
